How to Calculate Gravel for Your Project Manually?

1. Calculate Gravel for Total Area

Let’s say you have these measurements for your total surface area:

  • Total Area = 200 Square Meter
  • Depth of Gravel = 3 CM
  • Gravel Density = 104.88 lbs/ft³

Formula

  • Volume of Gravel = Total Area × Depth

Step 1: First of all, you have to convert the depth of gravel from CM to Meter. To do this, you need to divide 3 by 100. Because there are 100 centimeters (cm) in 1 meter (m), so:

  • 3 CM = 0.03 M

 


Step 2: Let’s put all the values into the above formula:

  • Volume of gravel = 200 × 0.03
  • Volume of gravel = 6 m³ cubic meters

Step 3: Your next step is to convert cubic meters to cubic feet. For this conversion, use this formula:

Step 1: Convert Depth from Centimeters to Meters

The depth of gravel is given as 3 cm, but you need it in meters to match the other dimensions (length and width).

To convert centimeters to meters, you need to divide by 100.

So:

3 cm = 0.03 meters
(Reason: 1 meter = 100 centimeters, so 3 cm ÷ 100 = 0.03 meters).

Using the formula:

Weight = Volume x Density
